Patellar Tendonitis

Haven't updated the blog in a few weeks due to some unfortunate downtime in training. A few weeks back I started to experience pain in my right knee. At first I didn't think much of it, took some time off and rested but the pain persisted.

One advantage of working at the University of Rochester is having access to some top-notch sports injury specialists. Payed a visit to the URMC orthopaedics and rehabilitation center and sure enough they diagnosed my with patellar tendonitis.

Since then I have been ordered to take it easy and get better to prevent further injury. I was prescribed KIP-gel, a powerful topical anti-inflammatory, which has helped but things are not 100% back to normal. Currently on a treatment rotation of electro-induced cortical steriods, which, fingers crossed, will finish the job (knock on wood).

So, as of now training has taken a step sideways, but I look forward to getting back after!
